It's three months ago to date that I moved here. I remember the day you showed me this unit; and, from my first few steps in here, it felt like home and hasn't disappointed at all.
You were terrific in helping getting the family home ready for sale so I could buy this. You kept me going when I didn't want to go anymore. You kept my spirits high when I just wanted to cry. I didn't realize how affected I was going to be by this move but you were so good and patient and encouraging for me.
I could never thank you enough for all you did in making this experience go as smoothly as it did.
You are fabulous to work with. I'm so glad my mother wanted me to use you. Thank you for everything,
My husband, Jon and I knew Maggie as a neighbor and realtor for over twenty years before we hired her as our listing agent.
We were confident that she would do a good job for us but she exceeded our expectations. She is very professional and knowledgeable about her business, tireless and reliable and a very good communicator. She was there for us every step of the way from preparing and staging our home for sale, keeping us informed and assured during the process and following through with all the details of an unusually complicated sale.
Without hesitation, we can say you will be fortunate to have Maggie as your realtor and recommend that you call her ASAP!
I just wanted to thank you for helping to sell my Mom's house in Redwood City. I think the upgrades that you recommended and supervised really worked to improve the marketing of the house. I'm happy with the result and recommend you as a realtor for other sellers in the mid-Peninsula area.
Jeannie and i want to thank you for all the assistance you are giving us in trying to come to grips with a transition of our son to the Palo Alto area. You are an A+ professional and a kind, thoughtful person too. Great to know you!
I was very very impressed with my realtor, Maggie Heilman, of Alain Pinel Realtors, 650.543.1185 or on cell: 650.888.9315. I am particular about this because I grew up in a real estate family. I knew her through the mothers club only by email -- she suggested people put their money into a house in a better school district than putting their money into private school. Anyway, my husband and I were casually shopping for houses and found a wonderful house. So I called her out of the blue and told her I wanted it and could she get it for us. She immediately researched the house, explained to us the various problems which would total about $100k to make the house livable and told us the house would go for 100k over asking and then asked if that was within our budget. It was not, and the house did in fact go for $100k over asking. So, that was good advice.
She then talked to us extensively to understand our needs and showed us houses in 3 different cities (including RWShores, where we lived in a townhouse). They were all good matches for us and we ended up bidding on a house in RWShores. We were not the high bid, but she was extremely dedicated in working with the sellers and their agent (who was representing the high bidder) and got them to let us bid again. We got the house! Then, she took our town house and had it painted, staged, and sold within weeks (this was a few years ago). She was very analytical about the asking price, the timing of the open houses, the food for the realtor open house, etc. We got 3 bids all over asking. She was just really a remarkable realtor. She didn't blink when my 2 year old started barfing during one meeting. She entertained our kids during another while my husband and I "discussed" matters. A realtor really sees a whole lot of what your relationship is like! So, you want someone with good judgement, who knows when to duck out and when to make suggestions. Anyway, I highly recommend her. This will take you to her website http://www.apr.com/agentDetail.aspx?lid=7630&ps=7&pg=0
Can anyone recommend an excellent realtor who is very knowledgeable about the Shores neighborhoods, aggressive when necessary and, most importantly, extremely honest. We had a terrible experience with the realtors who "represented" us when we bought our first home and would like this next time around to be much better.
We are in the early stages of house hunting and have found a home we like, but we need a realtor ASAP! Many thanks!
We are writing in support of Maggie Heilman who was our realtor for our home. We first phoned Maggie in August and asked her to drop by to discuss the possible sale of our home. Maggie immediately set to work by reviewing every aspect of the house, itd presentation, and condition. As our relocation plans were being finalized, Maggie was simultaneously developing a plan to prepare the property from every point of view. She suggested and hired hard a working gardener, a talented designer and stager, painters, inspectors, home cleaners, a hardwood floor expert and craftsman to repair an old furnace in the floor, and a handyman to make a few cosmetic changes. She also suggested many inexpensive, but very effective changes to attract and captivate buyers. As first-time sellers we were sometimes hesitant to make such changes that were not always in our taste, but Maggie firmli and politely convinced us of their merit.
In the end, Maggie held an open house and three offers in hand within 2 days, all of them above the asking price and one a full cash offer with no contingencies. We credit Maggie with this because we learned how convincing she can be and suspect that she was equally effective in speaking with potential buyers. It is also worth noting that we have heard that the buyer is very pleased with her new home.
As you can see, we were very happy with maggie's efforts, her professionalism, and her friendly and effective manner. We would not hesitate to work with her again if the opportunity were to arise.
I chose Maggie Heilman to represent me for the sale of my childhood home after the death of my father. While I was able to spend several months sorting out items of value to my siblings and I, as I live out of state what was left in this five-bedroom house was overwhelming to me – emotionally and practically. Maggie stepped in at this point, and on the day I left to return to my home, her crew began work. My parents had raised four children in this home (expanding it twice), and accumulated fifty years worth of ‘stuff’. In three weeks she supervised her crew in taking care of clearing out unwanted detritus, upgraded flooring and wall-work, sprucing up the yard, taken care of required and recommended inspections, and arranged excellent staging. The first open house occurred three and half weeks later on a Sunday. By midnight that night she called me with a 5% above-asking-price offer. I was stunned given the current market. Closing occurred with-in six weeks. It is very clear to me that I chose an agent who knew my neighborhood and the market. I recommend her without reservation to anyone interested in buying or selling real estate.
Reference for Yelp for Maggie Heilman from Andy and Chris:
"A realtor for life" – that’s Maggie Heilman. She helped us buy our first house in California, but her service goes beyond the purchase. As ideas and questions come up months after buying, she is there to answer our questions about taxes and documents we receive, provide contacts for home improvements, and share ideas and suggestions. We met her at an open house and had a hunch that we could work with her to buy a place. She said she could find the right house at the right price. That seemed unlikely in the housing market here on the peninsula but it is exactly what happened. Having looked at homes on the peninsula for about 10 years, we knew what we were up against. And having bought two properties outside of California in the past, we had definite ideas about the type of realtor who could serve our needs. Maggie instantly understood what we were looking for, even advising us if a house we were considering didn’t seem right for us. When we found the house we wanted, she moved quickly, getting our offer in the Monday after the first open house weekend and before the realtor tour. We got the house for asking price, but Maggie was doubtful about the financing we had lined up through a broker. She gave us the name of another broker who had recently impressed her on another purchase. We were able to save hundreds per month with the new broker. In short, Maggie is an exceptional real estate professional: skilled, dedicated, honest, practical and pleasant to work with. We know that if we move (though we’re too happy in our new place to do that), she will be the person we call.

Subject: Thank you !
Ron got a job! He is going to work for a soft wear company and his position will be Director of Sales for North America. He is going to start mid month, and we are so happy! And we get to stay right here in the area :)
I wanted to thank you for a truly wonderful conversation when we last spoke.
You were positive and reassuring, and you also went over all of the facts and made a lot a sense. I really appreciated the time you took with me on a Sunday at that. And I will never forget your kindness and patience with me.
“Maggie did an excellent job on both the sale of our existing home and the purchase of our new one. We received more than we expected from the sale through her negotiations allowing us to move into the neighborhood we´d been trying to get into for years - for far less than we thought we would have to pay! She took care of each transaction professionally and efficiently, handling the details and negotiations for us and making the process as stress-free as we could have hoped for. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for the best representation.”
“her competitiveness, diligence and determination were key factors in our getting the house we didnt start out with the highest offer and the sellers didnt want to negotiate. Maggie was really wonderful to work with during the finding and then buying our house and then the selling of our existing home. Also, as a couple, buying and selling homes was stressful and so we were not always the best of company - Maggie was really supportive, gave us space, kept us on track. Just cannot recommend her highly enough. I grew up in a real estate family and so know a lot about the field and thus am not easy to please.”

“We took our time looking for just the right house, and Maggie was very patient through our protracted house hunt. When we finally found the perfect home, Maggie expertly negotiated the deal in a very competitive market and kept us from paying too much. We put our complete trust in her and would highly recommend her. "

"Maggie really came through for us on our move-up purchase. Even after a long and difficult search, and the final deal had closed, she actively helped us resolve a significant and potentially costly problem with our new home, saving us thousands of dollars. Maggie never drops the ball."

“Thank you again for everything - You were terrific, both as our sellers agent and as our buyers agent. We appreciate marketing savy which helped us set the right asking price. . The sales strategy you developed plus your advice about staging- your own active presence at open houses and appointments, the reaction was so positive that we received multiple offers over our listing price. We appreciate your negotiating skills which are so critical when we bought our new home in Stanford which we got at the best price, well below what the sellers were asking. Were convinced that, as our buyers agent you saved us enough to make up for every penny of commission you earned as our sellers agent on the previous deal! We appreciate your attention to detail, which may sound minor, but we both know from our previous real estate experiences that paperwork matters, so oversights or misunderstandings by agents can cause headaches for the principals. Your competence and care protected us from unnecessary stress and confusion. Finally, we appreciated your combination of professionalism and personalized service. You got to know us, counseled us appropriately when there was something that we needed to hear, and listened when we shared our preferences. You always were available on time, informed, energetic, and ready to work hard with us, with other realtors, and with prospective buyers and sellers. You also always were upbeat and fun. You were confident that we could have successful outcomes when both selling and buying, and you were right! We could not be happier than we have been with your services as our Realtor we will miss our working partnership with you. We will recommend you to our friends, colleagues, and others.”

“Recently we had the good fortune of having Maggie Heilman represent us as our realtor when we sold our house, we previously had been watching as Maggie represented many of our neighbors and were always encouraged by both the sales price and short length of time on the market for her listings. Although we have several realtor friends in the area, we felt we would receive the best value for our home if we worked with Maggie. We were not disappointed in our decision. The sales price of our home and length of time on the market exceeded our own lofty expectations. Based on our experience, there are three things about Maggie that yields such outstanding results. First of all, she presents a plan of what needs to be done to get maximum equity from the sale of the property. In our case, there was some additional investment, but I believe we made tens of thousands of extra profit by following her guidance. Secondly, she ably manages the whole process of selling a home. She is organized, and takes ownership of all things that need to happen to close the transaction. In our case, that meant coordinating numerous contractors as well as any other issues that needed to be resolved. This is invaluable to us as I travel frequently, and Ginny is quite busy managing the demands and schedules of our four small children. Finally, she developments a personal relationship with her clients. In addition to our respect for her in her profession, we admire her as a friend, and hope we can work with her in the future. Should you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us. Maggie can provide our contact information.”

“Selling a home is a process...there are lots of pieces to the puzzle, the right agent can make them all fit together seamlessly. Thank you, from our hearts, for making the sale an easy one...the final bid was more than we ever hoped for will definitely enhance the quality of our retirement years. We highly recommend you as a top real estate professional!”
The family of Mrs. Sutherland, whose home you recently sold following her passing, would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank you for all that you accomplished in helping us through this difficult time. As we live a great distance from the home, the task of removing a lifetime of memories and then preparing the house for sale was a little overwhelming. Gail, Joan and I cannot thank you enough for not only bringing in people to repair, paint, clean and renew the home and yard, but accomplishing it in an amazingly short period of time.
Your professionalism while keeping us current on all progress prior to, during, and after the final sale was amazing. Following the close of escrow, you continued to keep in touch, making sure all final papers were sent to us and all questions answered.
Gail, Joan and I would like to take this final opportunity to sincerely thank you for all you have done for us and would always give you the highest recommendations.
“For one year my wife and I casually went to open houses in the Redwood City/Menlo Park area trying to find that "perfect home". Because we weren't yet serious buyers, we didn't have an agent, but we kept running into Maggie at many of these open houses. At each encounter, we became more and more impressed with her courteous and professional manner, and we began to realize why she was at so many of these open houses -- because she was very good at her job! So, when it came time for us to become serious buyers, we instantly knew who would be our agent: Maggie! With her keen understanding of the highly competitive local real estate market, Maggie successfully enabled us to purchase a charming home in the Las Lomitas neighborhood of Menlo Park. Furthermore, throughout the entire process, Maggie remained personally committed to our needs and goals, and helped us through those inevitable periods of frustration and anxiety that every home purchaser experiences. We highly recommend Maggie to anyone who is serious about buying a home in the mid-peninsula and wants a highly-qualified and experienced agent with a personal touch.
Thank you Maggie!
